I don’t use the Head & Shoulders every day, in fact only when I’m getting close to getting my hair cut. It’s been in use the past couple of days and the timing of today worked well.
I’m off at 3:30, which is ideal for Atlanta trafffic. Even by that time, it can be a pain getting on 85. But the barber shop is off Peachtree Industrial, which feels close to empty around this time compared to what it will be in an hour.
Pulled, then backed into a spot and noticed a barber outside and another walking to his car. I entered to find two barbers and a man clearly blessed with governmental authority. Standing in a confrontive manner, I looked to Books.
”Is Sean here?”
”He just left for lunch. Text him, but he’ll be back in about an hour.”
”What’s that about?”
The look and slight shake was enough to explain so I turned around. I started texting before I reached the door and looked up. Sean was walking and speaking to Books.
”I was just about to text you.”
”Yo, come back in like 45 minutes.”
I drove away slowly, plotting exactly how to kill the time and moving around potholes. I was at the light and remembered I had dry cleaning to pick up. I made a right.
The brick building next door to the dry cleaner was formerly of the Church of Scientology. It now was looking for a new resident near the highway. I didn’t take the offered water and returned to my car. The facilities called and I turned left.
The modern office building features multiple tenants. Few have doorman or attendant in the lobby, making them prime real estate if you need to use the bathroom. If you just walk in like you work there, no one will take notice or care.
This can be tricky in some buildings, but since I previously worked at this one, I knew exactly where to turn. It was a great dream that lasted and worked and fit with the time. But it was the Internet Past at the end, if that’s something you care about. I liked it because it was a newspaper editor position, posing as a local business blog.
I texted, ‘Now’. He responded, ‘Cool’
I parked in front of the vape shop and walked in. I looked left at the three guys sitting by Books, who had one in the chair. But Sean’s bay and the one in front were empty. He waved me over and I walked by a big man in a chair.
I sat down and Sean adjusted the chair. Then he turned it and I actually saw the man I walked past.
