Paying $20 for an outfielder bleacher seat seems to have granted the privilege of getting completely drunk in public and yelling whatever you please.
It’s because the public sporting event is the only ideal place where men can go and be together. That alcohol isn’t necessary is what makes it unique. Anyone can be at a bar, but where can you be technically outside with entertainment that requires only your occasional attention.
There’s nothing wrong with fanatics, with fans that follow every pitch and dissect the moves within the moves. There’s also nothing wrong the casual fan, the fan that follows when the team is hot or when they’re not but part of the conversation in the moment.
Fair weather fans are a major part of any fan base. They’re the ones that truly turn a city into something special. When they get involved, you suddenly feel it everywhere within city limits.
