I decided long ago to just listen to his music and not pay attention to anything Kanye West says or does. That allows me to marvel at his genius.
But in listening, I hear about the money he spends to be the best dressed rapper in the game. Whether he’s self-conscious or a God, he seems intent on showcasing his wealth whether he has it or not.

He joined with Jay-Z on ‘Otis’, utilizing a sample from the soulful crooner. It gets played somewhat regularly at the stadium, whether a player uses it as walkup music or the sound crew just wants to get a bump from the crowd.
Otis Redding is featured on the song despite dying in 1967 at the age of 26. On his certified gold album with Carla Thomas, they go back and forth on ‘Tramp’.
Despite the initial connotations associated with that title, ones strengthened by The Queen, Redding rants about his six Cadillacs, five Lincolns, four Fords, six Mercuries and three T-Birds.

Jack Johnson, the wrongly imprisioned heavyweight champion of the world, would race the equivalent of a T-Bird in the early 20th century.
He was imprisioned for marrying a white woman and attempting to cross state lines with his bride. For that was and is an offense to some; an affront that President Barack Obama didn’t pardon for fear of how it would have been perceived.
He wasn’t allowed to show off the wealth of the White House.
