There’s talk about sending me down to stretch me out for more long relief.
It’s a ruse, but a necessary one. In the logistics of the sport, you have to keep a 25-man roster and a 40-man roster.

There are obvious similarities but what’s important is the ability to send players with ‘options’ back to the minors without penalty.
It’s a move routinely done and one I had been lucky enough to avoid. I’m just the type of guy that would be sent down.
I’m to much of a realist to be upset with the team’s decision, especially since they pay my salary.
But I never feel like I’m helped when I go down. It’s elitist since my major league service time is officially two cups of coffee and a late-year call up…

But never the less, I’ve worked on pitches there and it worked so well, I was promoted. How does pitching against subpar talent make me better?
If I’m going to fail, I want to fail against someone better than this.
