Pasttime – 42

I grew up outside a big city, but never felt the need to leave my little vincitity. But when I did leave, I never came back.

Between college, summer ball and minor league spots; I bounced around the country. But all the spots were somewhat small towns.

And getting dressed to go out someplace small like that always felt weird. Like I wasn’t standing out already, so I wouldn’t.

But even when I was young, I always liked to get dressed and present myself as best as possible. It’s helped since I came into real money, but that isn’t necessary.

It’s a well-known secret that you don’t need big money to dress well. Yes, it helps. But it can be done with a little effort. But it starts with a realization that classic looks are classic for a reason.

Then again, my sense of style is stuck where it is with little desire to change, certainly not with the times that have declared wearing your wealth is the way, whether that’s a watch or a whip.
