Pasttime – 43

I remember my first time like it was just that. It’s a moment that will always remain stuck in ice. Crafted as it was and to remain forever.

It was a September thing, a September fling when everyone was up. The team was in the tank and it was more like a long road trip to the greatest place on Earth and everything is for you.

The reason Bull Durham is such a good film is the writing of Ron Shelton and the delivery of Kevin Costner. And his speech to those kids is true.

It’s a completely different thing, regardless what you thought before and how much you practiced and saw. It’s jumbled because your emotions can’t fully grasp what’s happening.

What was previously an everyday occurance has suddenly taken on a different texture, a different substantial feel that is…indescribable.

And that’s just being up in The Show. My first time on the mound was even better.
