I think I found a new pitch.

Well, obviously it’s not new. No idea’s original. There’s nothing new under the sun. It’s all in what you do and how it’s done.
What I’ve done is something with my wrist. That’s all I can say right now because that’s all I can remember.
But it was memorable.
I was just throwing a bullpen session. Getting my arm stretched out for whatever was going to come next.
I’m setting up that this was just another day. There wasn’t anything special that I was trying to do, but something special happen.
I started throwing my slider, which I don’t really use. I don’t have much confidence in it because, quite honestly, it doesn’t move much.
And calling it a slider is being very generous.
But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to throw a slider. Of course I want to throw a slider. I live throwing my stuff on the black of the inside part of the plate.

I’ve been setting up with fastballs away to bust back inside. But if I could extend the outside with the slider, then all of a sudden, I’ve expanded strike zone.
So that’s the dream. And in throwing a random bullpen session and doing something with my wrist, I was able to make the ball move.
But it’s not perfect.
There is time before I’ll be confident enough to throw it in a game. But now, at least I have it.
And I plan to spend the next couple of months working on. You won’t see me using it this year, but it’s always good to set goals and know what y’all do in the off-season.
