It’s easy to lose track of just how high up you are sometimes.

From this point, each had a vision of everything within reach. Anything that could bring that different; that same thing each was waiting patiently for and yet neither truly wanted to see.

For there were some things that could come and take them away. Remove them from this paradise, this oasis that makes the time before this seem like a distant memory.

Maybe because it is.

But that doesn’t mean the fear associated with that time is a distant memory. There are reminders; moments when it feels like it did back then.

But in the end, it was easier to forget about those times completely and enjoy this undeserved luxury. Easier to forget about her siblings; his friends. Their time before it was just the two of them, safe and alive and away from the places already affected by this moment in time.

It truly was a luxury each loved more than they knew.

But they also knew it could go away without diligence and a dedication to staying alert and always on watch.

Even when it was nothing.
